Welcome to Galerie Bonheur! Located in St. Louis, Missouri, Galerie Bonheur has specialized in the sale of International Folk Art since 1980. This includes art that has also been called self-taught, outsider, primitive, naïve, art brut, visionary, intuitive, etc. Galerie Bonhuer is one of the few galleries of this genre (Folk and self-taught and outsider art) that still specializes in art from many lands and parts of the world. Most other galleries focus either on American, the European, or Latin American outsider art, while Galerie Bonheur encompasses all of the above, and includes many countries that are very unexposed in the US, such as Guatemala, Venezuela, Brazil, Romania, Poland, and Russia. "I have been traveling the globe to collect folk art for 25 years. It has been the great passion of my life, and a pursuit for which I have been richly rewarded, not necessarily in dollars, but in experience and the enrichment of my life, and hopefully the artists and clients whom I have met along the way. Through my adventures in search of art in many poverty-stricken lands, I have found a wealth of talent among artists who have never had an art lesson, but who have an intense need to make art.
