Cheryl Heddell

Cheryl Heddell lives in St. Louis with her husband of 36 years, John, where she works as a CPA. The couple have six children and ten grandchildren. Cheryl enjoys painting, drawing, and writing poetry.

In 1998, Cheryl was diagnosed with breast cancer. During this trying time, she grew closer to her family and to God. In the fall of 2005, Cheryl attended a retreat for Breast Cancer survivors during which she began drawing and has not stopped since. Of her experiences, Cheryl says, "During the retreat I realized I had spent my life living by everyone else's rules and coloring in anyone else's lines. You'll see a lot of lines in these drawings. They're mine. That's how these drawings evolve--line by line. Then I add another and another. If I begin the see something in the drawing, I go with it and the picture evolves. It's fun to see what emerges."
