Anne Strasberg

Born and raised in Paris, Anne Cazaux-Strasberg always wanted to be a painter. When her parents would not buy her paper to draw on, she painted the walls of her room. Her life was cut off from her dream until she met her mother-in-law from her first marriage, Suzette Feuillebois-Deze, a painter. They worked side by side, painting the countryside of Normandy.

After 14 years of marriage, Anne decided that she must begin to live for herself. She divorced, and worked a variety of jobs to support herself and her two children. During this period, she met and fell in love with the well-known American director/teacher John Strasberg. She spent several years traveling with John, who lived and worked in Europe for 10 years. Traveling opened Anne's vision to the world, and she committed herself to being a painter. Her paintings tell a story of her voyage through life.

Now living and working between Paris and New York, Anne has painted murals in Debre Lapanouse, a children's hospital in Paris, as well as children's rooms for private clients. She has exhibited several times in the prestigious Salon de Autonne at the Grand Palais, and is on permanent display in the Galerie des Naif et Primitif in Paris. She is a member of a group of women painters Moderne Primitif (dit Naif) who exhibit all over France and in the US., and she is represented by Galerie Bonheur, in St. Louis in exhibits of Folk and/or Outsider Art in the US. Her work is also on display at ABC Carpet and Home's Toad Hall expositions in New York City and Cooperstown, New York.
